This area gets a much larger amount of rainfall than most other areas in the Rocky Mountain region, because of the weather attracted by the mass of Mount Robson. As a consequence, the forest more closely resembles the rainforest of the British Columbia coast, with cedars and hemlocks, instead of the pines and spruces that predominate in the rest of the parks.
